Chef Jo has the fondest memories of going to visit her grandmother Zoe at her home in Montreal which she called "The Old Cookie Farm".
A magical place where baked goods abound and where the love was felt through food.
This is a limited edition mix and the recipe card will not come with the bag. The exclusive directions are below so enjoy and remember- These are old fashioned cookies designed to be small and crisp and eaten only when cooled! Following these directions is a must to obtain the exact crisp texture that Zoe intended!
You will need...
- 1 stick, or 1/2 a cup, of softened butter (113.5 grams)
- 1 egg
- 2 tbsp milk or milk alternative)
Preheat the oven to 350 F.
Place the baking mix in a medium bowl and add in the butter. Mix with a spoon, but better by hand, to incorporate most of the butter- do not use a mixer. Add in the egg and the milk and finish stirring until smooth. Using a parchment lined baking sheet drop loonie sized dollops of batter on the tray spaced out, about 12 cookies per tray.
Bake at 350 F for about 12-15 minutes (ovens vary!) until the cookies are golden and edges are crisp! These are not the kind of cookies that you under bake and definitely need to cool to develop their unique and crisp texture!
Make approx 24 cookies
